Anderson v1 pg292 - letter #275

Dear Streicher!

As I shall be back in Vienna by the beginning of October [Anderson footnote: “Beethoven returned to Vienna about October 10th.”], let me know whether I may again have a piano from you –

My French piano is no longer of much use; in fact it is quite useless.  Perhaps you can advise me where we can find a home for it – Here we live so distractedly that, like the clouds, our thoughts too are continually being scattered.  Hence all that I can add is that I should like you to be so kind as to answer my questions – I shall be here until the end of September –

Most cordial greetings to your wife
                                                                from your friend
                                                                                            Beethoven
